Greetings Chiswick CC!
So 2021 is officially the year of "staycations", so there's never been a better reason to make your staycation Devon, for what will be our 80th time of touring the English Riviera.
Tour is open to players, officials and spectators past and present, plus guests welcome too.
It's a great opportunity to take a mid-season break from the league and either continue/rediscover form on some lovely grounds with cracking teas and excellent hospitality.
Itinerary is:
Tue 27 July - Depart Chiswick 9am and arrive in Torquay for lunchtime refreshments before a 4pm T20 against South Devon CC
Wed 28 July - Midday meet for 2pm start against Paignton CC
Thur 29 July - 11am meet for 1:30pm start against Exeter CC at The County Ground
Fri 20 July - Check out of Torquay and head to Exeter/Ottery St Mary for 2pm start against The Gentlemen of Devon CC, followed by BBQ and fines
Accommodation:
I have reserved twin rooms at Premier Inn on Torquay seafront for Tue, Wed & Thur nights.
Rooms are £86pppn and usually consist of a double and single bed, so those who are happy to pay more for a bigger bed can do so for £100 and those who want to keep costs down can take a single for £72.
I haven't included breakfast as this can be done later or there are plenty of other options around the area too.
Hotel for Friday is TBC, but looking to book in Ottery St Mary for 1 night as closer to the game means more cider and closer to London means quicker journey back for league games on Saturday morning.
Deposit:
To book your place please email me directly and I will arrange for a £50 deposit to be done through Pitchero. This deposit means you are in and I can arrange for personalised club tour polo shirts and also goes towards other expenses on tour.
Let me know which nights you are in for, matches available for and whether £72, £86 or £100 room rate.
The Devon Tour is a fantastic tradition of the club, we have only ever not toured due to WW2 and the Covid Pandemic, so there's gotta be something good about it...book your place and be part of Chiswick CC history!
Cheers
Leaky
