The last game at HQ for the season

Apologies for what may be the latest Chairman’s Report ever, on this penultimate weekend of the season. Mea culpa.

On Saturday the last game at HQ saw a loss to Crossbats. On Sunday, away at Hampstead, we conceded 251, but got to within 37, thanks largely to 77 by Anurag Zende and 65 to Nouman Tahir.

Saturday night also saw our inaugurual comedy night, led by club legend Runi Talwar, fresh from his triumph at the Edinburgh Festival. It was a great night of laughs in the clubhouse, thanks to everyone involved in making it happen, particularly Rob Fernandes and of course Runi.

Can I offer a huge thanks to those who turned out on Sunday morning to help with the transition of the ground from cricket to football. On behalf of the club: it is much appreciated, thank you. (The photo is of some of that grounds team with England ‘legend’ Alex Hales later on Sunday, in a Chiswick hostelry.)

There is one more game, this coming Sunday at Jordans, so please get your availability in if you want to be there right to the bitter end. It’s always a lovely fixture – and the weather seems to have gone back to summer-mode.

There is more information to follow shortly about the Senior Awards Night on Friday 27 September, and there is still time to sign up for the Junior Awards Event this coming Saturday from 4.30 at HQ.

Thanks
Bernard
